Fresh air and mountain views are at the top of my list of ways to decompress and spend quality family time. With Brevard, NC only a couple of hours from the house, and so many beautiful places nearby, it’s always tempting to load up the truck before sunrise and head for the mountains. With fishing gear, cameras, snacks and of course, our hiking boots packed, it’s hard not to have a stress-free day outdoors and, of course, capturing some awesome photos along the way. Our top spots to visit and photograph while in the area are Black Balsam Knob, Looking Glass Rock, Looking Glass Falls and for a perfect, easily accessible sunset, Waterrock Knob Overlook.
